Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What species are your logs?
A. Our logs are native yellow pine. All are grown here in the Ozarks within a 100 mile radius of our business location.

Q. Are your logs air dried?
A. Our logs are air dried for 8-12 months. This allows  the moisture in the log to evaporate and makes for less log shrinkage and less settling.

Q. How do you treat your logs for pests?
A. We use a product called Tim-Bor Professional. It is a water soluble, inorganic borate salt with insecticidal and fungicidal properties. Each log is treated 3 times.

Q. Do pine homes rot easier than other species?
A. No, not if the home is properly built and cared for. We build our eves with a 30″ overhang to keep rain water away from the home. If you choose to stain the exterior, we recommend a stain product without a water sealant. It is important for wood to be able to breathe; if it’s unable to dry out, the wood will become rotten.

Q. What is included in a kit?
A. Our home kits includes a log structure complete with a log stairway and floor joists in place for a loft. Each kit has gable ends and log ceiling perlins that span the length of the home. Our kits can be customized to fit your dreams, just give us a call, we’ll be happy to work with you.

Q. What about delivery and assembly?
A. Our kit price includes assembly at your home site. We also take care of delivery; the cost will be determined based on your location.
